So I got my shaving gear, first time ever. I didn’t cut up my face at all. I luckily already had a generously sized mug, so I used that with no problems. I know that I’ve only got peach fuzz, but it actually felt nice to get rid of it and feel smooth, if I can’t have real facial hair. I had some issues getting the angle just right on the razor due to caution of cutting off my face and I wish I’d gotten a smaller brush because my face is kind of small, but it worked, I just had to wipe it off around my mouth. The shaving soap was the best deal on the site I bought from: 500g of soap for only about $2-$8 more than most other brands that only have 100g bars. I have combination/sensitive skin so I chose rose because it’s supposed to be calming and it smelled subtle. The Proraso had a really nice menthol-ish feeling and I like how absurdly Italian it is. I’ve been using the Baxter’s wash for a year now and I don’t love it or hate it. My skin hasn’t really gotten especially better or worse with it. It’s not as dry, but I think it might break out slightly more. It’s difficult to say. I used Dove bar soap on my face for a long time because even though it dried out my skin, it minimized my zits. The jury is out on that.
If curious, here are the links to what I was using:
Edwin Jagger Safety Razor
Vulfix Pure Badger
Proraso Sensitive Skin
Klar’s Kabinett Rose Soap
Baxter Travel Kit (I bought the dopp bag elsewhere, so I don’t have the travel sized stuff)
